From 2 to 8 June, the first women’s international tournament within the ITF World Tennis Tour series with a prize fund of 15,000 US dollars was held on the capital’s courts of the Sakhovat Sports Complex. Athletes from Uzbekistan, Belarus, the USA, India, Thailand, South Korea, Russia, Ukraine, Switzerland, Israel and Kazakhstan took part in the tournament. The tournament included competitions in singles and doubles, which allowed the participants to demonstrate both individual skill and teamwork.<\/p>\n
Uzbekistan was represented at the tournament by Kahramonova Maftuna, Yakovleva Diana, Chinnova Zlata, Abduraimova Nigina, Alimova Nigina, Olimzhanova Sabrina, Shubina Darya, Espolova Nasiba and Ekshibarova Vlada.
\nIn singles, Diana Yakovleva, Nigina Abduraimova and Vlada Ekshibarova reached the second round.
\nDaria Shubina’s confident performance ended in the semifinals, where she lost to tennis player Varvara Panshina (Russia), who later became the champion of the tournament.
\nIn doubles, Daria Shubina in a duet with Varvara Panshina (Russia) reached the semifinals, and the pair Diana Yakovleva \/ Nasiba Espolova – to the quarterfinals, demonstrating team spirit and a professional approach to each game. The other participants also represented Uzbekistan with dignity, demonstrating fortitude, skill and desire to win.<\/p>\n
Varvara Panshina (Russia) and Vaishnavi Adkar (India) met in the final singles match. Varvara Panshina won with a score of 6\u20132, 6\u20134, becoming the champion of the tournament.
\nIn the doubles, Darya Khomutsianskaya (Belarus) and Darya Zelinskaya (Russia) won, beating the duo Vaishnavi Adkar (India) \/ Punnin Kovapitukted (Thailand) in the final with a score of 6\u20134, 6\u20134.<\/p>\n
The award ceremonies for the winners and finalists were held after the final matches on June 7 and 8. The participants received memorable prizes, gifts from their partners and thunderous applause from the audience. The final days of the tournament were held in a truly festive and warm atmosphere, filled with bright emotions and sincere joy.<\/p>\n
There is another week of tennis ahead – from June 9 to 15, the second women’s tournament of the ITF World Tennis Tour series with the same prize fund of 15,000 US dollars will start in Tashkent.
