The 24-year-old tennis player was born on August 28, 2001, in Yekaterinburg. Kamilla’s family has ties to Uzbekistan: her mother, Rufina Rakhimova (n\u00e9e Yalalova), was one of the strongest tennis players in her age group in her youth and competed for the Uzbek SSR. Kamila’s older brother, Timur, was born in Tashkent. These family roots make Rakhimova’s decision to represent Uzbekistan particularly symbolic.<\/p>\n
