Uzbek Players Reach Semifinals and Claim Doubles Title at ITF J30 Dushanbe

From September 1 to 5, Dushanbe hosted the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors J30 – President Cup 2025, which brought together the strongest juniors from Central Asia and neighboring countries. Uzbek players delivered solid performances and brought home a title.

In the boys’ singles draw, two Uzbek representatives — Amir Safaev and Nikita Gafurov — reached the semifinals. Safaev defeated Yunusbek Serikuly (Kazakhstan) 6–2, 6–1, but fell to top seed Alexander Kunitsyn (Russia) 1–6, 1–6. Gafurov battled past third seed Airik Abedinazade (Iran) 7–6(5), 6–4, but lost to second seed Maxim Prokoshin (Russia) 2–6, 1–6.

In the girls’ singles, Elnura Boltaboeva and Yasmina Fatikhova exited in the opening round against more experienced opponents.

The biggest success came in the doubles event: Elnura Boltaboeva (Uzbekistan) teamed up with Alua Marat (Kazakhstan) to win the title. They overcame Russia’s Milana Milianchenko / Alexandra Talina 6–3, 7–5 in the semifinals, before clinching the trophy with a victory over Victoria Egorova (Russia) / Safina Safiullina (Kazakhstan) 6–3, 7–6 in the final.

Uzbekistan thus left Dushanbe with a valuable trophy — Boltaboeva’s doubles triumph became the highlight of the week, while the semifinal runs of Safaev and Gafurov confirmed the rising level of the country’s juniors.
