2009 World No. 1 tennis player Dinara Safina to hold children’s master class in Tashkent

From October 20 to 26, the Olympic Village courts will host the ITF W15 Tashkent international tennis tournament. As part of the competition, a special event will take place on October 24 at 2:00 p.m. — a master class for children under 10, which will be conducted by legendary tennis player Dinara Safina.
The 2009 world number one, Honored Master of Sports of Russia, and now a television commentator, Dinara Safina will share her experience and inspiration with the young participants, talking about her path to professional sports and the importance of loving the game from an early age.
Dinara Safina is a Russian tennis player and television commentator, Honored Master of Sports of Russia, Grand Slam doubles champion (2007 US Open), finalist in three Grand Slam singles tournaments, finalist in a Grand Slam tournament in doubles (US Open 2006), silver medalist at the Olympic Games in singles, winner of 21 WTA tournaments (including 12 in singles), two-time winner of the Billie Jean King Cup (2005, 2008) and Hopman Cup finalist (2009) as part of the Russian national team, former world number eight in doubles. Dinara Safina is the sister of legendary Russian tennis player Marat Safin, world number one in 2000.
