Two new stars flying the flag for Uzbekistan: Laima Vladson and Alexandra Barmicheva have officially become representatives of Uzbek tennis.

Two talented athletes, Laima Vladson and Alexandra Barmicheva, have been granted Uzbek citizenship and will now represent the country on the international stage under the Uzbek flag.

 

Laima Vladson — the new face of professional tennis in Uzbekistan

18-year-old tennis player Laima Vladson, who previously competed for Lithuania, is ranked in the top 10 strongest juniors in the world according to the ITF and is already ranked 887th in the WTA world rankings. From a young age, she has shown outstanding results and is considered one of the most promising athletes in Europe. She also won the singles title at the W15 Tashkent Hayot Bank Cup (Uzbekistan) professional tournament, which took place from June 9 to 15, 2025.

Vladson’s main achievements:
• 7 ITF Juniors titles, including J300 Porto Alegre (Brazil), J300 Asunción (Paraguay) — 2025;
• Winner of the Hayot Bank Cup W15 Tashkent (Uzbekistan) professional tournament in 2025;
• Victories at the J200 Bratislava (Slovakia) 2024, J100 Trnava (Slovakia), J3 Tashkent (Uzbekistan), J3 Ust-Kamenogorsk (Kazakhstan) and J5 Fujairah (UAE), W15 Tashkent (Uzbekistan) tournaments;
• ITF Junior ranking — No. 10 (October 2025)

Laima is known for her powerful serve, consistent technique, and strong-willed character on the court. Her transition to representing Uzbekistan is a strategic move that strengthens the country’s position in the world tennis arena.

 

Alexandra Barmicheva is a young and promising Uzbek tennis player.

Another tennis player who has received Uzbek citizenship is 15-year-old Alexandra Barmicheva, who became the youngest participant in the ITF W15 Tashkent 2025 tournament. Born on July 25, 2010, she is already performing confidently at international tournaments, demonstrating mature play and high potential.

Barmicheva’s main achievements:

Winner of the J100 Vancouver (Canada) 2025 tournament in singles and winner in doubles at the J100 Cholpon-Ata (Kyrgyzstan) tournament paired with Tatiana Golovina.

In 2025, Alexandra made her debut on the adult tour and has already participated in the ITF W15 Tashkent, taking an important step in the development of her career.

“This is a big event for us. The emergence of athletes such as Laima Vladson and Alexandra Barmicheva gives new impetus to the development of women’s tennis in Uzbekistan. Their achievements are an inspiration for the younger generation,” said the Uzbekistan Tennis Federation.
