Kamilla Rakhimova and Polina Kudermetova will play in the main draw of the Australian Open

Uzbek tennis players Kamila Rakhimova and Polina Kudermeva have entered the main draw of the Australian Open, in Melbourne.

In the first round, Kamila Rakhimova, ranked 91st in the WTA rankings, will play one of the leaders of world tennis, Coco Gauff from the USA, ranked third in the world. For Rakhimova, this is an important stage of the season at the start of the Grand Slam tournament.

Polina Kuderemetova, ranked 150th in the WTA world rankings, will face Spain’s Giomar Maristani Suleita de Reales, ranked 184th in the WTA rankings, in the first round. The match will be an opportunity for the Uzbek tennis player to compete for a place in the second round of one of the main tournaments of the season.

The participation of two athletes from the Uzbekistan national team in the main draw of the Australian Open confirms the steady development of national tennis and the growing presence of our players on the biggest international stages.
