A historic achievement by Kamilla Rakhimova to the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence!

Uzbekistan’s top-ranked player advanced to the third round of the U.S. Open, becoming the first woman from our country in 15 years to reach this stage of the tournament.

Kamilla became the second female tennis player in Uzbekistan’s history to reach the third round of the US Open in singles. Previously, in 2011, Akgul Amanmuradova achieved this feat.

 

Now, Rakhimova faces a crucial match against the world No. 1 and two-time defending US Open champion, Aryna Sabalenka.

Kamilla Rakhimova’s match against Aryna Sabalenka will take place on September 4. The exact start time of the match will be announced later.
