A New Development Stage for Tennis in Uzbekistan

On September 21, 2026, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan issued Decree No. PP-347 “On Measures to Promote and Develop Tennis.”

The document aims to take domestic tennis to a new level, increase its popularity, identify young talent, and further improve the system for training professional athletes.

In accordance with the decree, the following is planned by 2030:

🎾 Increase the number of people who play tennis regularly to 3,000;

🎾 Increase the number of tennis coaches to 200;

🎾 Rank Uzbekistan among the top 5 tennis nations in Asia;

🎾 to regularly host international tournaments in our country under the auspices of the ATP, WTA, and ITF.

In addition, starting in 2027, the Juniors Tennis Initiative program will be introduced in general education schools, aimed at introducing children to tennis from an early age, establishing tennis clubs, and developing the necessary sports infrastructure.

The Uzbekistan Tennis Federation will devote all its efforts to achieving the goals set forth in the resolution, supporting young talent, and further strengthening the position of Uzbek tennis on the international stage.

This is an important step toward a new future for tennis in Uzbekistan!
