Akmal Abdullaev Reaches the Final of Roland Garros Junior Series in Almaty

The finalists of the Roland Garros Junior Series by Renault qualifying stage have been determined at Gorky Tennis Park — a prestigious U16 tournament held from August 4 to 9 in Almaty under the auspices of the French Tennis Federation (FFT), the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF), and Renault Group.
In a thrilling semifinal, Uzbek tennis player Akmal Abdullaev defeated Kazakhstan’s Ansar Nietkaliev 7-6 (3), 6-3 to reach the tournament’s title match. With this victory, Abdullaev has secured his place at the final stage of the Roland Garros Junior Series by Renault in Japan.
Another Uzbek representative, Alan Zinatulin, fell to Kazakhstan’s Mansur Sainov after a hard-fought battle — 4-6, 6-7 (7). He will now compete for third place in the tournament.
The Roland Garros Junior Series in Almaty brings together the best juniors from Central and West Asia. The winners and medalists will advance to the final in Japan, where they will compete for the right to play at the world’s most famous clay tournament — Roland Garros. The final and the third-place match will take place on August 9.
