Birthday of legendary Uzbek tennis player Iroda Tulyaganova

The Uzbekistan Tennis Federation warmly congratulates Iroda Tulyaganova on her birthday!

The name of Iroda Batyrovna is forever inscribed in the history of Uzbek and world tennis. A native of Tashkent, winner of seven WTA tournaments, two-time champion of Grand Slam junior tournaments in singles and doubles, one of the strongest juniors in the world of her time, she became a symbol of an entire era and an example for several generations of tennis players. Iroda Tulyaganova was also among the top 16 players in the world according to the WTA rankings. Already in 2000, her contribution to the development of the sport was recognized with the high title of Honored Athlete of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Today, as deputy chair of the Uzbekistan Tennis Federation and vice president of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF), Iroda Tulyaganova continues to serve tennis with the same dedication she showed on the court. Thanks to her professional and personal involvement, tennis in Uzbekistan is becoming more accessible, popular, and promising.
