Mumtozabegim Akramova performed successfully at the 4th Qatar Asian Junior 14&Under tournament

Young Uzbek tennis player Mumtozabegim Akramova showed confident and consistent play at the 4th Qatar Asian Junior 14&Under (Category 2) tournament, which is being held in Doha from November 29 to December 6, 2025.

Singles

The top seed, Mumtozabegim Akramova, started the tournament confidently and reached the semifinals, where she faced Russian tennis player Sofia Himmelreich. In a hard-fought match, the Uzbek athlete lost 6-3, 0-6, 1-6, ending her run among the top four.

On her way to the semifinals, Akramova defeated Iris Ben (Netherlands) 6-1, 6-0 and Al-Tani (Qatar) 6-0, 6-0.

In the bronze medal match, Akramova faced the fourth seed of the tournament, Sena Ishankulieva (Turkmenistan). In a tense match, Mumtozabegim lost 3-6, 1-4, finishing in fourth place in the singles draw.

Doubles finalist

In doubles, Mumtozabegim Akramova and Qatar’s Dorsaf Al-Thani reached the tournament final.
In the decisive match, the Uzbek-Qatari pair lost to the duo of Sofia Himmelreich (Russia) and Sena Ishankulieva (Turkmenistan) with a score of 2-6, 0-6.
