Mumtozabig Akramova wins doubles title at tournament in Qatar

Young Uzbek tennis player Mumtozabegim Akramova performed brilliantly at the ATF 3rd Qatar Asian Junior Under-14 tournament, which took place on November 22-29, 2025, in Doha, Qatar. Our athlete won gold in the doubles and was among the strongest in the singles.

Doubles – championship title

In the doubles, Mumtozabegim Akramova became the winner of the tournament, confidently defeating her rivals from Russia and Kazakhstan in the decisive matches.

Mumtozabegim Akramova and Sevinc Ishankuliev from Turkmenistan defeated Sofia Himmelreich from Russia and Yasmina Yusupova from Kazakhstan with a score of 7-5, 6-1.

The pair of Akramova and Ishankuliev demonstrated confident play, high speed, and excellent teamwork, deservedly climbing to the top of the podium.

Singles — quarterfinal

In singles, Mumtozabegim Akramova also showed a decent result, reaching the quarterfinals.

Mumtozabegim Akramova lost to Sevinc Ishankulieva with a score of 5-7, 6-0, 1-6.

Mumtozabegim’s performance in Qatar is further proof that Uzbek junior tennis is confidently strengthening its position on the international stage. Victory in doubles and reaching the quarterfinals in singles are important steps in the development of the young athlete.
