The Uzbekistan men’s team has finished its Davis Cup matches against Nigeria.

The Uzbekistan men’s tennis team finished their match against Nigeria in the Davis Cup World Group II playoffs. The match took place in Lagos on February 7–8.

At the end of the first day of play, the score was tied at 1:1, but on the second day, the hosts managed to gain a decisive advantage and finish the match in their favor. The final score was 3:1 in favor of Nigeria.

In the doubles match, Denis Istomin and Khumayun Sultanov lost to the Nigerian duo of Kanis Abuah and Michael Emmanuel with a score of 7-6, 6-4, and in the singles, Ilya Ignatov lost to Daniel Adeoye 6-3, 6-4.

The Davis Cup is rightly considered the most prestigious team tournament in men’s tennis, where every match is fiercely contested.

The Uzbekistan team showed character and competitive play, gaining valuable international experience that will be an important element in the team’s further development.
