Kamila Rakhimova, ranked 109th in the WTA rankings, has officially joined the Uzbekistan national team.

Tennis player Kamilla Rakhimova, ranked 109th in the WTA rankings, will officially compete in international tournaments under the flag of Uzbekistan.

 

Who is Kamilla Rakhimova?

The 24-year-old tennis player was born on August 28, 2001, in Yekaterinburg. Kamilla’s family has ties to Uzbekistan: her mother, Rufina Rakhimova (née Yalalova), was one of the strongest tennis players in her age group in her youth and competed for the Uzbek SSR. Kamila’s older brother, Timur, was born in Tashkent. These family roots make Rakhimova’s decision to represent Uzbekistan particularly symbolic.

 

In recent years, Kamila Rakhimova has become one of the most consistent and professionally growing tennis players on the world tour.
