Over two weeks in Dushanbe, Uzbek juniors showcased outstanding performance on the international stage. Fourteen-year-old Zlata Nizamieva captured a remarkable “golden double” at back-to-back tournaments, securing four trophies, while Dong Kim reached two singles finals and claimed doubles glory.
Zlata Nizamieva — Four Titles in Two Weeks
At the ATF Ramis Cup G-2, held from September 8–12, Zlata claimed the singles crown by defeating Turkmenistan’s Nazli Khudaykulieva 6:3, 6:1 in the final. Teaming up with Khudaykulieva in doubles, Nizamieva also lifted the trophy, overcoming Kazakhstan’s Kseniya Bervinova and Yuna Degtyar 6:2, 2:6, [10–0].
A week later, at the President Cup ATF G-1 (September 15–19), she repeated her triumph. Once again, Nizamieva swept through the singles draw and defeated Khudaykulieva 6:3, 6:1 in the final. In doubles, the Uzbek-Turkmen duo of Nizamieva and Khudaykulieva confirmed their dominance, capturing a second consecutive doubles title.
Dong Kim — Singles Finalist and Doubles Champion
Dong Kim also delivered impressive results. At the ATF Ramis Cup G-2 singles event, he reached the final before falling to Kyrgyzstan’s Bakai Aseinov 1:6, 1:6.
In doubles, however, Kim and Aseinov stormed to the title, routing South Korea’s Geon Kim and Cheon-Yun Pak 6:1, 6:0 in the final.
At the ATF President Cup 2025, Kim and Aseinov repeated their success, defeating Saudi Arabia’s Suhail El-Tadji and Hamza Elmansuri 6:3, 6:3 to become doubles champions once again.

The prestigious GSPDP Asian 14&U Junior Championships 2025 concluded in the Philippines, bringing together the strongest young players of the continent. Uzbekistan was among the participating nations.
Uzbekistan’s Muslima Turdimurodova and Thailand’s Pavenuen Nualsri reached the girls’ doubles final and were leading their match against South Korea’s Seoheon Kim and Tae Kim 6:4, 4:2 before the final was interrupted due to rain.
In the singles draw, Muslima Turdimurodova competed in the placement matches. She first lost to a Kazakh opponent 7:5, 6:0, but then regrouped and confidently defeated fifth seed Tae Kim from South Korea 5:3, 4:1, followed by Amanda Teng from Malaysia 4:0, 4:1. Turdimurodova secured her place among the top 13 players in the singles standings.
Saidaslam Farkhodov won his opening-round match against India’s Rishikesh Mane 6:1, 6:0. He later fell to stronger opponents but still finished within the top 16.
In doubles, Farkhodov teamed up with Kazakhstan’s Amir Askar. The duo showed strong team spirit but lost to an Indian pair 2:6, 4:6.
Both Uzbek players — Turdimurodova and Farkhodov — finished the tournament in the top 16 of Asia’s best U14 players in singles. Turdimurodova also reached the doubles final, marking an outstanding achievement given the high level of the field and the tournament’s prestigious ATF A+ category.
For Uzbekistan’s young athletes, participation in such competitions is an important step in their development. These matches provided valuable experience and proved that our juniors can compete with the strongest players in Asia.

The final matches of the international junior ATF 14&Under tennis tournament were held in Andijan.
In the girls’ singles final, Kazakhstan’s Ailin Bakiyeva defeated Mumtozbegim Akramova 6:4, 6:3 to claim the championship title.
In the girls’ doubles, Mumtozbegim Akramova and Yuliana Yen won against Ekaterina Fomina and Layla Tukhtamisheva 6:2, 6:1 to become champions.
In the boys’ doubles, Enjun Choi and Eunho Choi defeated the Uzbek pair of Alikhan Temirbaev and Artyom Dogovorov.
In the singles final, Uzbekistan’s Azamjon Ziyatov beat his South Korean opponent Choi Eunhoni 7:5, 6:2 and became the absolute winner of the tournament.

From September 8 to 13, the Uzbekistan Cup was held in Karshi, where young tennis players of the country competed in the age categories U11, U13, U15, and U17. The tournament became an important stage in preparing athletes for international competitions, identifying the best in singles and doubles among boys and girls.

The Davis Cup World Group II clash between Uzbekistan and Hong Kong took place on September 13–14 at the Victoria Park Tennis Stadium, drawing strong support from local fans.
After the first day, the score was tied 1–1. Uzbekistan’s point came courtesy of Khumboyun Sultanov, who battled past Tsz Fu Wong 7–6, 6–3.
On the second day, the doubles proved decisive. The Uzbek team lost to the Hong Kong duo in two close sets, 5–7, 6–7. In the singles, Sergey Fomin was narrowly edged out by Chun Hung Wong 5–7, 6–7, while Sultanov fell to Hong Kong’s top player Coleman Wong 2–6, 2–6.
The final score of the tie was Hong Kong 3 – 1 Uzbekistan. The fifth rubber was not played, as the outcome had already been decided.
Despite the result, participation in the Davis Cup remains a prestigious chapter for Uzbekistan’s national tennis. The team gained valuable international experience, with Sultanov’s opening-day victory standing out as proof of the squad’s quality.

On the opening day of the World Group II Playoff tie in Hong Kong, Uzbekistan’s national team leveled the score thanks to a hard-fought victory by Khumboyun Sultanov, who defeated Tsz Fu Wong 7–6, 6–3.
The match started with difficulties for Sultanov, as he trailed 2–5 in the first set. However, he mounted an impressive comeback, forced a tiebreak, and confidently closed it out. In the second set, the battle remained tight until 4–3. At 15–40 on Wong’s serve, Sultanov seized the decisive break to lead 5–3. He then sealed the win with a commanding hold to love, giving Uzbekistan its first point in the tie.
The score between Uzbekistan and Hong Kong now stands at 1–1. Tomorrow, fans can expect another thrilling day, with the crucial doubles match set to decide the path to the next Davis Cup round.

From September 1 to 5, Dushanbe hosted the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors J30 – President Cup 2025, which brought together the strongest juniors from Central Asia and neighboring countries. Uzbek players delivered solid performances and brought home a title.
In the boys’ singles draw, two Uzbek representatives — Amir Safaev and Nikita Gafurov — reached the semifinals. Safaev defeated Yunusbek Serikuly (Kazakhstan) 6–2, 6–1, but fell to top seed Alexander Kunitsyn (Russia) 1–6, 1–6. Gafurov battled past third seed Airik Abedinazade (Iran) 7–6(5), 6–4, but lost to second seed Maxim Prokoshin (Russia) 2–6, 1–6.
In the girls’ singles, Elnura Boltaboeva and Yasmina Fatikhova exited in the opening round against more experienced opponents.
The biggest success came in the doubles event: Elnura Boltaboeva (Uzbekistan) teamed up with Alua Marat (Kazakhstan) to win the title. They overcame Russia’s Milana Milianchenko / Alexandra Talina 6–3, 7–5 in the semifinals, before clinching the trophy with a victory over Victoria Egorova (Russia) / Safina Safiullina (Kazakhstan) 6–3, 7–6 in the final.
Uzbekistan thus left Dushanbe with a valuable trophy — Boltaboeva’s doubles triumph became the highlight of the week, while the semifinal runs of Safaev and Gafurov confirmed the rising level of the country’s juniors.

The Uzbekistan national team has arrived in Hong Kong and is actively preparing for a decisive playoff tie in the Davis Cup World Group II, where they will face the Hong Kong team. The matches will take place at the legendary Victoria Park Tennis Stadium on September 13 and 14, starting at 14:00 Tashkent time each day.
This encounter carries huge significance: the winner will advance to World Group I next year, while the losing team will remain in Group II, missing the opportunity to play in the more prestigious tier.

Two representatives of Uzbekistan have earned the right to play in the final stage of the prestigious Roland Garros Junior Series, which will be held in October 2025 in Japan.
Akmal Abdullaev secured his place by reaching the final of the qualifying event in Almaty, while Alan Zinnatulin received a wild card from the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF). Thus, Uzbekistan will be represented by two juniors in the decisive stage of the tournament.
The Roland Garros Junior Series Final in Japan will be a key step towards one of the world’s top junior tournaments — Roland Garros 2026 in France, where the best young players will have the chance to compete on the legendary Parisian clay courts.

From August 9 to 15, 2025, the international Sugd Cup 1 was held in Khujand (Tajikistan) under the auspices of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF), bringing together the best juniors of the region. Players from the Republican Tennis School of Olympic Reserve delivered outstanding results, claiming all the main titles in the U14 category.
Artyom Dogovorov became the absolute champion among boys, winning both singles and doubles. In the singles final, he defeated compatriot Dong Seon Kim 7:6(5), 6:2. Partnering with Kim in doubles, Dogovorov also secured the title, beating Kazakhstan’s duo Alikhan Akylbek and Ibragim Rakhmatullin 6:2, 6:1.
Among girls, Zlata Nizamiyeva became the absolute champion, not dropping a single set on her way to the title. In the singles final, she confidently overcame Milanа Zakharova 6:1, 6:2. In doubles, Nizamiyeva teamed up with Zakharova to defeat Kazakhstan’s Alya Rakhmetzhan and Dilnaz Amandossova 6:1, 6:2, clinching the championship.
These victories are the result of the young athletes’ determination and the dedicated work of their coaches. The success of Dogovorov, Nizamiyeva, and Zakharova highlights the high potential of Uzbek tennis and strengthens the country’s position on the international stage.
